Ultimate Summer Activities for the Outdoor Enthusiasts

Monday, January 21, 2013

Although there is still time to grab a last minute bargain for the winter ski season, many of us are looking ahead and planning our summer sojourn, and rightly so. You can grab some incredible deals online, giving you the chance to enjoy the offerings of faraway shores, without breaking the bank.
Where many escape the humdrum of everyday life in the hope of finding relaxation and serenity, others wish to test their limits and enjoy the outdoors to the max. Here are some top summer activities for those of you who want a little more thrill and to feel the adrenaline pumping.

Mountain Biking

Mountain Bike holidays are popular all over the world, particularly in the foothills of the European mountains. Wherever there is craggy terrain and downhill thrills to be had, you’ll see mountain bike enthusiasts appreciating it. Resorts in Greece are incredibly popular for such a sojourn, including Lemnos and Halkidiki, while the Alps prove to be an excellent choice once the winter snow season has subsided. Austria offers multi-activity weeks in its Alps, including in the vicinity of Hinterglemm in the Glemm valley.

Walking & Hiking

Whether you’re happy to take a leisurely amble around the hills and lanes of inland Europe or you prefer to don the hiking boots and take on the challenge of more arduous terrain, there are resorts scattered all over Europe that can accommodate you. Hiking holidays are particularly popular in the lakes and mountains of Italy, including in the Dolomites that overlook Lake Garda.

If you’re a sun worshipper and want to bronze that beach bod of yours, head for the hotter climes of Turkey or Greece, where you can chill out on the golden sands before trying your hand at one of the watersports available in the areas. Owing to excellent wind conditions, Adakoy and Sivota are perfect choices for windsurfing, wakeboarding and many other sea-based activities

Everything is written in english, so i'll write in english. If you had come to Finland with me, you wouldn't be here, there is too much to see and probably you'd use at least 10-15 posts to describe such beautiful places... Sunset landscapes during the whole day, never seen the sun (except the day I went snowmobiling in Levi, Sirkka, on the top of the hill), hours spent driving on frozen straight roads in the middle of nowhere, across white-frozen lakes and forests...
Next time I'll go, you'll come with me.
