Travel essentials: Moleskine notebooks

Monday, April 15, 2013

Many travelers love writing their feelings, emotions, travel tricks or tips somewhere, but clearly if you bring with you a big notebook maybe you will miss the opportunity to write them down and maybe use them when you work on your photo collection or if you want to make a cd-rom of your travels.

In the previous travel essentials article, I chose a high quality compact photo camera because I think it's best to carry light gadgets with you: you travel faster, reduce the theft-risk and lose less time than big and heavy gadget.

The perfect match is for sure the Moleskine Notebooks, a small paper notebook that becomes a fantastic travel gadget: it allows you to report everything wherever and whenever you want.

Are you on the top of the highest mountains where the temperature could waste your electronic devices?

Are you in a museum or somewhere where the smartphone or tablet is not allowed?

Nobody or nothing can stop you from taking your Moleskine notebook and write down your thoughts. You just need this and a pen and you could save this.

It is even more important if you are a travel blogger: you know that the quality or your article depends also on some particular things you can describe or show to your audience.

Personally I prefer the red version, but you can find many colors. But why Moleskine? well its design, really anonymous, simple and also its history, used by Van Gogh, Picasso, Heminghway or Chatwin, but most of all practical: this its elastic and little pocket inside you can even keep important documents without losing them.

Another factor that helped its growth was its re-birth: in fact in 1997 an editorial company from Milan, Italy, relaunched the famous notebook and since that time it's been living a second and lucky life!

This red Moleskine notebook is the one used by me during the Road Trip July 2012 and the Cote d'Azur travel and will be used in the next road trips and explorations!

Travel highlights: French food

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

The Cote d'Azur travel was a great opportunity to taste some delicious French food, from the traditional you could find in the entire France to the regional of Provence and Cote d'Azur.

This "travel highlights" post will show you a collection of recommended dishes you should really try. An exploration of Europe means not only discovering cities but also its culture and its food. In this case it was really influenced by the Mediterranean cuisine. This is a list, not a chart...

Ratatouille: one of the most famous dishes of Cote d'Azur, created in Nice, is prepared with peppers, courgettes, aubergines, tomatoes and onions, cooked with olive oil and Provence herbs.
